Me! Me! Me! Me!
Nutmeg is sooo excited to go swimming (I know this because I can read her mind). I’m excited to turn my brain off for a few days and put any and all thinking/planning aside for a few days. I made a rhubarb pie so that I could use up whatever we had left from our CSA box. This is the first time I made a pie… Hopefully, it turns out ok.

Lady Gaga’s new album is out TODAY.
Now, for those who know me, I am a pretty big Lady Gaga fan. However, over the past year, I started dwindling off the fan-wagon a little bit… I played The Fame non-stop when it came out. In fact, I’ve been wanting some new Gaga music so bad that I started to relisten to The Fame this past month.
The Fame Monster was also a great album. However, I didn’t grow attached to it like I did with The Fame.
I’ve been listening to Born This Way all morning, and I think Bret and my sister are starting to get annoyed by how much I keep talking about it. I LOVE THIS ALBUM!
I know people are going to be split on whether or not they like the album because 1.) her music isn’t for everyone and 2.) it’s Lady Gaga. Many songs have a Daft Punk/Tiesto/Diplo/Benassi feel which I am ecstatic about. It also reminds me of listening to some of my favorite 90s dance groups: Deee Lite, La Bouche, Crystal Waters, Enigma, The Vengaboys… Pretty much anything from all of the Jock Jams albums. It’s an entertaining album that keeps my foot tapping and head rocking back and forth.

THE WEEKEND!
For some reason, this week seemed to drag on and on. But now — it’s Friday! And look outside… SUNSHINE!! Tomorrow is supposed to also be gorgeous outside. I really want to go to the park and play some ladder ball + read in the sun. I don’t think that’ll be a hard sell for Bret, but we’ll see.

Bon Iver released the first single, “Calgary,” this week. I cannot believe it’s been 2 years since Bon Iver’s released a track and 4 years since For Emma, Forever Ago first came out.
I am more than ready to get some new Bon Iver back on my playlists. I wish I could have had the playlist to listen to during all of the rainy days we’ve been having here in in Pittsburgh. The rain is getting a little bit out of control ans is starting to mess with my patience.
I’ve been playing “Calgary” on repeat all this morning. I am excited to to play it in the car… at night… heading home…

Anyways, I’m pretty sure this weekend is supposed to be full of rain. However, it’s going to be super busy for Bret and me with dinner tonight, out of town visitors tomorrow (YAY!), and graduation festivities on Sunday for Bret’s cousin.
I think I see th sun shining a bit. I really could go for some ladder ball tonight if it’s not raining… Hmm…

I’ve been pretty crazy about The Head and the Heart this year (starting in December) and was able to see them live back in February with Bret. I knew they would get big this year…
Anyways, Shane Conerty (AKA Leann Grimes) put together an album full of wonderfully mixed songs. The songs that really caught my ear were “Cats & Dogs in Idaho” and “Ms. Grimes.” Shane doesn’t mashup any music but puts his own personal touch to the song, much like Big Z Remixes does. I think this type of music needs its own name. It’s not necessarily a “remix,” and it’s not a “mash-up…”
