I have to get some dance music on here again. It’s been a pretty chill week which is why I’ve been putting more slow, acoustic songs on the site. However, it’s Thursday… Which means tomorrow’s Friday… which means I better get my act together and find some weekend music.
I have a few of White Panda’s mashups but haven’t been too crazy about them. I just ran across “Stereo Hands” which is a mashup of Waka Flocka and Edward Maya. I am pleasantly surprised at how well the two blend together.
I’m sure half the reason why I like Hoodie Allen is because his name is a fun spin on the name Woody Allen. I’m not a fan of all of his mashups, but I’ve listened to the track “Swimming With Sharks” a few times and can’t get it out of my head. The wonderful VV Brown’s original “Shark in the Water” is featured as the base for Hoodie Allen’s track. The song is bubbly and energetic and makes you want to tap your feet along to the beat.
>i think by now, many of you have seen or heard about the movie ’500 days of summer.’ in the music blog world, the movie gained a lot of attention for its solid soundtrack which included artists like regina spektor, temper trap, feist, and of course — she & him (appropriately so since zooey is in the movie…)
apparently they forgot to put lil’ wayne on the soundtrack.
or am i?
http://twitter.com/mysickuncle decided to take the entire ’500 days of summer’ soundtrack and mash it with lil’ wayne songs. for some reason, i’m such a sucker for lil’ wayne. it’s pretty crazy how a lot of his raps and beats can be mashed with so many songs. i don’t necessarily enjoy each and every one of the songs, but the effort was totally worth it:
